Systems and Infrastructure: A discussion on IEC
standards for charging, including IEC 61851 and IEC 62196,
and common charging methods like AC and DC and CCS/CCS2
and CHAdeMO.
- Safety
and Compliance: An overview of the necessary standards for working with
high-voltage systems in electric vehicles, referencing global protocols
like DGUV,VDE, and ISO. covers also electrical shock risks and provides guidelines for safe handling.
- Future
Technologies: Highlights advancements such as wireless charging, autonomous
electric vehicles, autosar, 800V technology, wireless BMS, SiC, etc.
and the future of electric vehicles in the context of smart grids and
sustainable energy.
The dictionary also includes 1,600 illustrations, such as wiring
diagrams, electrical symbols, and icons used in electric
vehicle systems. These visual aids help readers understand complex concepts
like battery management systems and charging infrastructure,
providing a practical approach for professionals in the field.
Electrical Shock Risks and How to
Handle Them
Electrical shock risks pose a significant threat when working with electric
vehicles, especially due to the high-voltage systems used in these vehicles.
The dictionary outlines the potential hazards associated with electric vehicle
systems, such as:
- High-voltage
batteries (typically ranging from 400V to 800V in most EVs)
- Electric motors, which require
specialized handling
- Charging
systems, including high-voltage applications like AC and DC To
mitigate these risks, the dictionary outlines protocols and best practices
for electrical safety when working with electric vehicles. These practices
include:
